Do you enjoy working with children? Are you looking for a way to serve? Then become part of an exciting year for our Children’s Ministry.
Kids on Sunday Nights
Go BeYond: yourself, your church, your community, the Sunday evening program for the children Sundays from 5-7pm. Please share with children in your neighborhood and in your family that this is a time of food, fun, and fellowship. Children in grades pre-K through grade 5 are always welcome. Dinner is served at each evening meeting.
Our kids program(follows the school vacation schedule) from 5-7pm. Kids from grades preschool through 5th have a chance to meet every Sunday evening from 5-7pm for drama, music, food, fun, and the word of God. This programs follows the Henry School calendar.
Snacks & Snaps with Santa
SUNDAY • NOVEMBER 13 • 2-3PM
Photos with Santa, Hot Chocolate, Warm Cookies, Christmas Music, Fun for all ages
Get your photo taken with Santa and then enjoy some great fellowship and fun. The treats are free. Photo packages will be available through the photographer and will be ready just in time for Christmas presents! Bring your friends and family!!
PTA - Parent Time Away
The Children Ministry's Christmas "gift" to the community is PTA - Parent Time Away on Saturday, December 3 from 10am-5pm. This is a time the church opens its doors to a maximum of thirty (30) elementary school students so that parents may be able to get some shopping done. When parents drop off their children in the fellowship hall, we want to offer a fun, safe place for the children. The fun will to include games, recreation, arts and crafts, and possibly a movie. We will provide a time for 2 snacks and a lunch of chicken nuggets, bread, 2 sides, dessert and drink. The cost of PTA is $7 per child. We need volunteers for this to be a success. Please consider the list below and keep the date open so that you can assist. If you know of others who may be able to assist, please share the information with them.
- three classes with 2 adults per 10 children
- 1 person on playground
- 7 adult float/relief adults
- 5 youth assistants
- 2 cooks
- 16 adults and 5 youth to make this a success
A flyer will go to Austin Road and Fairview Elementary Schools in November sharing this program and registration infor-mation. Please consider volunteering so that the surrounding community can see what a gem it has in Bethel United Methodist Church.
Why Sunday School?
Last month I submitted 5 of the 10 reasons to BRING your child to Sunday School. Well here are the last 5, according to www.ministry-for-children.com
1. Praying Teachers: Our staff and volunteers consistently pray for your child's faith to grow. Coming to Sunday School gives another occasion for God to answer those requests.
2. Big Reward For a Small Investment: If you're already coming to church, just come a little earlier. That one change will equal over 800 hours of additional Christian teaching before your child graduates.
3. Send the Right Message: Making Sunday School a priority shows your kids that God's Word really does matter more than bedtime.
4. Adult Bible Fellowship: While the children enjoy their class, you can fellowship with other adults in your own Bible study group.
5. You'll Be On Time: Families who come to Sunday School always get to worship on time. It's the easiest way to avoid being late.
So BRING your children, grandchildren, neighbors to Sunday School at 9:45am in the fellowship hall. We are serious about preparing our children to be disciples of Jesus!
